Pros: The staff, the view from the rooftop and the size of the bedroom.
Cons: We are a family of 4 people and the quality of the two extra beds was disappointing. We might have taken a better decision by chosing two double bedrooms.

Pros: room facilities, cleanliness and staff hospitality was exceptional
Cons: the restaurant located separately from the room building, during rainy weather would be troublesome for guests

Pros: After a struggling with 20-hour flight to Istanbul, we arrived in Galata exhausted and with no hotel booking. We stopped by this hotel simply to ask for guidance, but the warmth and kindness we encountered immediately made us decide to stay and we’re so glad we did! From the moment of booking to settling into our room, the level of hospitality was exceptional. As someone completely exhausted from travel, all I needed was a comfortable bed, good pillows, and a quiet night’s sleep and this hotel delivered on every front. The room was perfect and gave me the peaceful rest I desperately needed. The breakfast was another highlight delicious food, kind staff, and an amazing view of Istanbul that made for a perfect start to the day. Special THANKS to Noyan and Taha for going above and beyond to help us. Your kindness turned what could have been a stressful arrival into a memorable and positive experience. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Galata!

Unbeatable location and great value for money. Highlight: breakfast with the best view of Istanbul!
Pros: The hotel is quiet but in a perfect location, walking distance from the Galata Tower and neighbourhood, the Karakoy waterfront, the tram that takes you to Sultanahmet and Kabatas, the ferry to Kadikoy (Asian side). It felt safe at all times of the day. The hotel itself is clean and modern. Good cleaning (not excellent, but still pretty good), big bedroom and everything working fine. The highlight is the breakfast: you start the day on a rooftop with one of the best views of Istanbul. Our breakfast was included in the price. Considering how expensive is breakfast outside, the breakfast was a great value for money. Variety of food (salty and sweet), coffee, fresh orange juice, and everything high quality!

Nice place but is two separate hotels
Pros: The location was good, breakfast was very nice and staff helpful.
Cons: There are two separate buildings, 3 minutes walk from each other. The pictures are confusing because the hotel appears to be one big place, but in reality there are two separate hotels. Where I stayed there was, restaurant/no rooftop, I needed to walk to the other hotel for those amenities.

Incredible place with an amazing breakfast experience
Pros: I stayed at DeCamondo Galata in June with my partner and really loved the experience. So much so that I went back to Istanbul at the end of October with my mother and decided to stay there again. Staff are super friendly, the rooms are comfortable (spacious too), clean and tastefully decorated and the location is truly unbeatable. My absolute favourite part about it, though, has got to be their breakfast. Everything is delicious, the food selection is great, and you sip on your coffee whilst overlooking the Bosphorus from their rooftop terrace. Truly fantastic experience.
Cons: If you're a light sleeper (which I'm not), make sure to ask for one of the rooms in the second building (not the main one) as the noise from their rooftop terrace does travel. Also, aircons are set for winter mode in the cooler months which means you can't regulate the room temperature. We slept with the windows open, which did the trick temperature-wise but, again, a bit noisy if you're a light sleeper.

Good stay bad breakfast
Pros: Centrally located by the galata tower and the pier was excellent to commute to the sights from the hotel
Cons: The breakfast was in a related hotel though not far away and the breakfast was strictly average and not upto the mark for a Marriott hotel. Needs to improve both in terms of the spread and the cooking this is unacceptable
