Akgun Istanbul Hotel

Pros: A decent hotel for the price. The room interiors are a bit outdated, but overall the stay was comfortable. The spa is good, although I didn’t like that access is by appointment only and limited to 30 minutes per visit. A special thank you for replacing breakfast with suhoor during Ramadan — that was very thoughtful and appreciated. The staff are very polite and friendly.

Cons: The Wi-Fi in the rooms is very poor and definitely needs improvement.

Amazing

Pros: Had a great stay at this hotel very clean and staff was very helpful and breakfast was delicious. The only negative I would give is the internet that was very slow is our room. Rest can’t complain.

Emotional memories

Pros: In the bright days at the start of the New Year 2026, I steel keep emotional memories of my birthday 12 December, which I happened in the magnificent Istanbul. This great city for the European civilization has always charmed me in a way to forget about thousands of years time. I will never forget however, that my personal celebration this time began at the Akgun Istanbul Hotel where I enjoyed the warm welcome and kind hospitality of SAMET INCEKARA.

Pros: Quite clean and in a nice location. Conveniently, it had a restaurant, café, and hammam on site. It was also convenient that you could order food to the room 24 hours a day. The girls at the spa were outstanding.

Cons: On the downside, the restaurant food could have been of slightly better quality. The staff there were excellent, in contrast to the reception, who were always in a hurry. Also, it’s better not to book taxis through the reception, as reliability is lacking. On my last night, I booked a taxi to the airport. Although the employee assured me I would pay 1600 lira (€33) in cash and that the driver would give change in euros, the taxi meter was set incorrectly from the start. The driver demanded €43 and did not have change in euros. He took advantage of my rush to avoid missing the flight and kept €50 without giving any change. Use a taxi app and do not trust the reception.

Pros: It is pretty close yo metro station. The breakfast is really good. Rooms are clean and staff is cooperative.

Cons: The pillows need a major change. They are too hard and thick. Lights in the room are not enough amd worst part was wi-fi. Major wi fi issue. It just doesnt work. Signals drop every 2 mins

Pros: Staff is extremly nice and helpful, solving all questions and situations smoothly and friendly.

Cons: Furniture and textile in rooms is a bit outdated. Windows can not wide open.

Pros: Service was excellent and the staff was always willing to help.Very comfortable room. Ideal breakfast with traditional tastes.

Pros: Very nice hotel. The room was spacious and we had an amazing view on Mihrimah Sultan and Fatih mosques. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of variety. The hotel is close to the Metro M1A/M1B line and is also at a 10mn walk to the T1 tram station which gives direct access to the old city (takes about 15mn by Tram). Special thanks to Samet Incekara who was very nice to us and always helpful.

Great hotel, It has a flair of old world Turkish charm, very helpful staff and good food.

Pros: Room was good, it did feel slightly dated but not overly, we got a nice high floor and the views were really good. The breakfast was very good, a lot of variety. staff and room service are very receptive and service is good Bed was comfortable and we sleep very well.

Cons: I did feel the air con could have been better, as some nights were warm even with the air con at max.

Overall, a wonderful stay at Akgun Hotel. I would stay there again.

Pros: The property was fantastic, great location. The service was excellent. The food was amazing too! Comfortable beds and a great view from our room.

Cons: Our room was a little too warm at times.
