Pros: This little family run hotel exceeded our expectations. The welcome was friendly as we're all the staff from the owner to the breakfast staff. Our room was roomy with a comfortable bed, tv, tea and coffee making facilities and warm. Still cold here in February. The bathroom was modern with a heated towel rail and huge shower. Plenty of hot water, shampoo and shower gel. Hairdryer in bathroom and one for the bedroom too. Location was ideal for both walking to the Blue Mosque and the Bosphoerous, both within 10 minutes. A few hills but all manageable. Fish was a lovely restaurant within a few minutes walk also. A turkish breafast was included and didnt disappoint, all fresh and home made. The breakfast room is a work in progress as is an outside terrace, both will be beautiful once finished. Thank you to everyone at Abelia for making us so welcome.

Cons: There isn’t much space, and the walls are thinner, but no noise could be heard.

Pros: Excellent Stay at Abelia Mansion Hotel! Abelia Mansion Hotel exceeded all expectations. Spotlessly clean rooms and common areas, tastefully and stylishly furnished, creating a very cozy atmosphere. The breakfast is rich and varied, with plenty of delicious local Turkish products — a perfect start to the day. The location is outstanding: right in the heart of Sultanahmet, within walking distance of Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, just steps from the sea, and close to all major attractions of the Old City. A big plus is the convenient parking, which is rare for this area. Special thanks to the wonderful hosts — extremely kind, positive, and always ready to help. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Istanbul!

Good price-quality ratio but with several smaller flaws
Pros: The room was nice and cosy. The bathroom, including the shower, was also very nice, even though small. The staff were very kind, even though there is no real reception (it is not a usual hotel) — it’s just a man (sometimes more like a boy) sitting at a small desk with a computer right next to the door. The location is good: Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque are about 5 minutes away by a brisk (but uphill) walk. The price–quality ratio is overall good, at least outside the high season
Cons: The walls are extremely thin — it feels like they are made of plasterboard or something similar. You can hear everything: people walking on the stairs and people in the other rooms. People from the street can also be heard. The street itself is luckily not very busy, so it’s not a huge problem, but the windows clearly do not seal much. When people were grilling below the hotel, the smoked “flavour” was noticeable in my room. The mattress was comfortable, but the double bed is actually two single beds pushed together, so there is a gap in the middle. The room was very nice but small. Normally, that wouldn’t bother me, but I really missed a proper wardrobe. There were only a few hangers and a bedside table. The bathroom and shower were also small. The shower needs fixing, as part of the spray was shooting to the side. Breakfast is served in the neighbouring hotel. The breakfast is quite poor, especially the sweet and bakery selection is very limited. Most of the food consists of salty dishes, salads, olives and eggs. It’s basically a standard home-style kitchen that opens into a few tables; don’t expect a typical hotel breakfast. The coffee did not taste good.

Pros: The location is perfect and within walking distance of all the major sights. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Baris even took me & my mom to the Pharmacy with his car, when my mom's feet were swollen and she was struggling to walk. He really went above and beyond. The breakfast was also great and a nice variety. Loved everything about the Hotel.
Cons: If I had to nitpick it was only the noise level as the hotel has wooden floors. Other than that nothing else.
