Cezayir Rooms

Perfect place to stay!

Pros: Amazing place to stay. Everyone was very welcoming and helping. The room was so lovely and very clean!! Loved the architecture and decor and the bar downstairs had such a cool vibe.

Cons: I liked everything it was perfect!

Pros: The hotel was very nice, the tall ceilings & the old building give a romantic charm. The reception was helpful & cheerful. Very nice place to stay. The staff was absolutely outstanding, so kind, attentive, and always ready to help. The location is perfect, everything is within walking distance, with hidden gems and amazing restaurants.

Beautiful building in a great location better for weekdays

Pros: The hotel is really beautiful art nouveau style and has so much personality. The staff are helpful and attentive.

Cons: The venue hosts events every evening so it gets noisy. On Thursday and Friday night the music from the event lasted until 2am, so not good for light sleepers. Unfortunately the smell of cigarette smoke from downstairs gets into the bedroom so it must be because of all the draughts.

beautiful neighborhood

Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at Cezayir. It’s set in a beautiful neighborhood filled with antique stores, cafés, and great restaurants and bars. Our room was fantastic, and the staff were incredibly accommodating.

Highly recommend in great location

Pros: Memet & Volkan were wonderful hospitality. Beautiful rooms in a great vibrant location. Better suited for younger couples due to weekend noise.

Pros: Relaxed, comfortable, friendly which was great as a solo (female) traveller. A great base to explore the city.

Cons: There wasn’t anything I didn’t like however, my room (21) was a little tired and could do with a lick of paint!

Would stay here again when I return back to Istanbul

Pros: Property was central to everything and the building has so much charm. Room with High ceiling and large windows it is probably the best room I stayed in whilst travelling turkey for 6 weeks … Vulkan and Ercan were great very helpful and couldn’t do enough for you

Avoid on Saturday night

Pros: 1. Location - The location of Cezayir Rooms is near (behind) Taskim Square (behind), which is a good location. Cezayir Rooms is close to the metro and in a walkable distance to many of the sights, restaurants, etc. However, it is initially difficult to locate and I had to stop every few steps to ask people, who couldn't really help me, so it took me two hours to find when I could have located it in 15 minutes with good directions. The most helpful pointer was to get to the University on Taskim Square and then ask from there. Once I located the university, I walked down a side road and then asked again and someone lead me to the Cezayir Square. 2. Memet and the other staff are very kind and helpful and efficiently support guests. Note there is no lift and many steps. They kindly helped with my luggage.

Cons: 1. The thumping noise on a Saturday night is horrific and continues until the early hours of the morning, so there is zero chance of getting sleep, which ruins your sightseeing the following day, you'll spend the day sleep walking. Avoid booking on a Saturday night. Also, the surrounding pubs attract people who sit on the steps of the entrance to Cezayir Rooms with their drinks and cigarette smoke, and guests need to step over their drink glasses and through clouds of cigarette smoke, which is quite dangerous if you misstep. I recommend you avoid booking on a Saturday night. Sunday night was calmer and quieter and normal. 2. The shower door was dirty and needed to be cleaned. 3. The bed didn't have a sheet, only a bed cover that felt like a rough towel. I asked for a sheet to put under the cover and they brought one. I recommend the housekeeping put a sheet on the bed for guests.

The best place if you search for a location not too touristy and with a local vibe

Pros: The historical building is very interesting, the interior design is curated but not intimidating. The staff is polite and very helpful, Memet gave me a lot of precious infos about Istanbul

Pros: Beautiful old building and lovely spacious rooms with good linen, big windows, loads of natural light, a bar fridge and kettle. The staff we dealt with were amazing! Thank you Valkan and Mustafa! Such a great Neighbour good.
