Spinel Hotel - Old City

Pros: Really nice hotel close to the main attraction of Istambul, reasonable price, helpful staff, reccommend this hotel for groups of friends.

Cons: Breakfast could be more viaried

Pros: The location is superb. Within a short stroll to Cankurtaran Railway station and comfortarbly 15-20 minutes walks to Sultanahmet tram station that will get you to explore Istanbul in no time. There are restaurants, souvenirs and groceries shops nearby but best to check the price first as it is cleary meant for tourists, if you know what I mean. The front desk staff was very helpful too. They even arranged for us an airport transfer at a reasonable price. Best of all, the delicious yet simple morning breakfast facing the Bosphorus Strait was simply stunning. The two rooms apartment that we stayed was fully furnished and comfortable enough for a family trip. Thanks

Cons: Obviously the narrow strairs going up and down the room is something to consider as the hotel has no elevator. But worry not, the staff is helpful enough to bring up your big and heavy luggage to your room. If any, the hotel may wish to consider investing to equip the kitchen with washer-dryer combo unit. This indeed is very helpful for family travellers like us. Otherwise, i'm considering Spinel Hotel again for my next visit to Istanbul. Thanks

Clean, friendly and comfortable place to stay in a very central location

Pros: Very clean and super comfortable bed! Location was excellent, walking distance to Sultanahmet Square. Be aware that the walk includes walking up a set of stairs, which is fine for most able-bodied but might be an issue for some. Not sure if there are alternative routes. Felt very safe throughout my stay. Have to give a special mention to the hotel staff who were always friendly, professional and responsive. The first night I arrived in Istanbul, I didn’t have the right adapter to charge my phone. The receptionist on duty at the time went out of his way to help me find a place to not only buy the adapter, but also helped me resolve the issue when it wasn’t working initially. Also thank you to the lovely lady serving breakfast who was exceptionally helpful and a ray of sunshine. Thank you for your hospitality!

Cons: Nothing I didn’t like about the property. There is some noise that can be heard in the surrounding area at night but this is common I think iand can’t be helped by the hotel. The airport transfer while efficient and comfortable/friendly, I think was a bit pricey due to the exchange rate.

Pros: Its really good for value. the location is a bit weird. Accommodation was comfortable, breakfast was ok. The staffs were very cordial for sure.

Cons: the location of the hotel is weird, the taxi leave me a little away, the location is very hilly.

Perfect location and friendly staff

Pros: The perfect location the hotel next to the Agia Sofia and sea, the possibility for parking, the price to quality ratio and especially the staff- very friendly, supportive and easy for communication! It is pleasure to start the day with breakfast on the roof and to be welcome by Eliv! For sure the hotel will be our choise in our next visit

Great comfy quite place near SultanAhmet

Pros: Clean spacious room with excellent staff who were there to support and make my stay comfortable. The breakfast was amazing with rooftop with great views of the bosphorus.

Best value for money

Pros: I found this hotel to be one of the best places I stayed in Istanbul. Efe was such a kind manager. I booked a standard room and actually realized that I booked a small room than what I needed because of work requirements. I discussed this in a general conversation with Efe and he upgraded me for free to a deluxe room with very new facilities and everything a modern hotel could have. All in all, best value for money and I enjoyed my stay in Istanbul quite much.

A stay in the vicinity of it all!

Pros: I loved the friendliness, kindness and helpfulness of one of the staff members, he is from one of “…….stan” countries. He went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. Breakfast was great and the staff serving it were amazing. The location is a huge plus point.

Cons: The property felt more homely than a hotel.

Perfect

Pros: Breakfasts were wonderful and always tasty. There was always a sense of home, thanks to a gentle chef who was organizing and cooking everything for visitors.

Cons: You need a new coffee machine, because this one is too small for such a large number of people. I would also like to be informed in advance that the diner is on the 4th floor. I was with my mom, who's 72, and it was a bit of a challenge for her to climb that high. Yet, it was allowed to bring her some food downstairs, so she would not climb that day. Thank you for that.

Very convenient in all aspects

Pros: Extremely quiet in such a central location, great staff always there to help.
