April Hotel

Pros: Good location right in the historic centre (Fatih) within walking distance of many attraction. Good price-to-quality ratio. The manager/proprietor was welcoming and helpful.

Cons: The shower is not separated from the rest of the bathroom/toilet. Water stays on the floor and doesn't dry.

Pros: A nice old hotel. The oldness could be considered a selling point, but some things were simply broken (like a leaky shower or holes in the bed linens). Overall, the staff was very friendly, it was fairly clean, close to the main attractions, and there were plenty of cafes nearby. It's perfectly fine for a few days' stay :)

Cons: It's worth repairing the plumbing, updating the bed linen, towels, and other consumables, and leaving new soap or toilet paper in the room without reminders.

Pros: Very good value for money👍. The communication with owner was OK, he tried his best to help me in my request 🙏

Perfect base for exploring Istanbul

Pros: The hotel is centrally located yet tucked away on a quiet side road, so there’s virtually no street noise. My room was charming and tastefully decorated. The staff were friendly and always happy to answer questions or offer helpful tips. Aside from the downside mentioned below, I definitely recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again if I return to Istanbul.

Cons: The only downside is that, since the building is mostly made of wood, noise from the room above can be quite noticeable and might bother light sleepers. I personally use earplugs, which helped a lot. I was also lucky that the guests upstairs went to sleep earlier and woke up later than I did, so their movements didn’t disturb me much. If you’re sensitive to noise, I’d recommend trying to book a room on the top floor.

Pros: The hospitality - nothing was too much trouble to help me with! Room very clean and great location.

Cons: Can hear a lot of footsteps from the room above.

Pros: Location is great. The host is very responsive and friendly. Always open to help.

Pros: Ali and his family are very kind. The location is great for those who want to walk to Hagia Sophia and its surroundings. The rooms are cleaned daily, including towel change.

Pros: Nice big room, heating worked well , shower good , clean , facilities to make tea/coffee a nice touch . Always a friendly face in reception to help me with what ever I needed. I liked the area , zero hassle and plenty of cheap , local places to eat .

Cons: Nothing, everything was good but I was glad they arranged airport shuttle for me as I think I would have struggled to find it in the dark on my first night .

Pros: Ali is a wonderful host, discreet, caring and helpful. Despite a wrong booking from my side, he accommodated me in the same room for my whole stay with no extra cost for the upgrade. The room was very comfortable, perfect for one person. Location is perfect to access the must see places of Istanbul, but there are also a lot of tourist trap bars and restaurants. Take the road down to Yenikapi, you'll find plenty of local places with great food and human prices.

Cons: Bathroom could be a bit small for two people, ok for one.

Pros: Great location, super friendly and helpful host, comfortable room

Cons: This is very personal, but we were a bit bothered by the ac right above the bed. Also, our room was on the first floor on the street side and the windows don’t lock so it didn’t feel very safe to leave our stuff.
