Taksim Square Hostel

Slightly above average by international standards, but reasonable at this price

Pros: Good location, clean shared bathroom (with automatic plastic liner on toilet seat!), and most importantly a simple but sturdy and very well made bed with crisp clean cotton bedsheets and a warm blanket. The staff member on duty was very polite and I was lucky that my fellow occupants were quiet, decent and considerate. I felt safe and reasonably comfortable. I would stay there again if I am on a budget.

Cons: The dormitory space and common area, which were in the basement, were really quite tight, and might be quite uncomfortable if there were rowdy/ loud/ unwashed/ sick occupants (thankfully this did not happen to me). The locker space is good for a small backpack only, and cannot fit a stabdard cabin bag. There was only 1 common bathroom/toilet for the 10 bunk beds. It takes awhile for messages to be replied, and there was only 1 staff on duty when I was there, so it took over half an hour for me to receive a response so that I could check out, even though it was around 10am. Far from perfect, but all in all, by international standards, slightly above average for a shared dorm, but reasonable at at this price.

I'd recommend this place for those who seek budget value for traveling to istanbul

They really cared about making sure you had a good time during your trip and really did the best they could. Coming again and recomended you this hostel. 😍

Pros: Honestly, it's not what I thought. It's not very clean and has some problems in the kitchen like the electricity doesn't work and the place for washing dishes leaks a lot of water and the washing machines don't work because of the electricity problem. I talked to him to fix this but to no avail. But there are positives like the location is nice and quiet and very close to transportation, the Bosphorus and the famous Turkish markets as well as tourist places and its location is on Istiklal Street, Taksim Square area

Pros: The owner and staff are so nice and helpful. You can go and talk to them about anything. The Beds are comfortable and sheets as well as blankets are very clean. The kitchen and the tables there are a good way to get to know others in the hostel.
