Mehmet Bey Suites

An enjoyable short stay in a beautiful city, with welcoming, friendly people and some delicious food.

Pros: We particularly liked the location, but the beds were comfortable and there was a nice shower. The apartment was cleaned daily and fresh towels supplied, along with extra bottled water. Breakfast supplied in the nearby hotel provided a good start to the day and could be enjoyed with extensive views of the city and the Bosphorus. Transfers to the apartment and back to the airport were efficient and well worth it, especially considering the somewhat hectic city traffic!

Cons: Nothing.

Excellent location, staff, value, and space.

Pros: We loved our time at Mehmet Bey Suites. Our apartment was fantastic. We are a family of four, and we loved having space to unpack and not be on top of each other. The breakfast each morning was delicious, and the views were amazing. It is not often that you get to sit and enjoy a cup of tea overlooking the sunrise over Istanbul. The staff were very helpful in helping us make the most of our time in Istanbul. We love to walk and explore a city, and the location was excellent both for walking to local landmarks and also picking up the metro to take us further. There is a good-sized supermarket just up the road for extra bits you may need. The staff helped us arrange good airport transfers. The neighbourhood is nice and a bit back from the tourist track. This is a great place to base yourself while you explore Istanbul.

Mehmet Bey Suites

Pros: It was a great apartment in an excellent location right in the heart of Sultanahmet. It was great having an apartment where you could relax and all be together, something you don't get in hotel rooms. The breakfast in the sister hotel was excellent value for money.

Cons: The bathroom was very much on the small side and needed some TLC. The shower was over a bath witch was very difficult to get in and out.

Pros: Thank you so much for your hospitality. The good location: there are many cafes and restaurants around, near the historical center.

Pros: We stayed with children in suites for 5 nights. Location is excellent. Apartment has a nice view on Bosphorus. Breakfast on the roof with beautiful view. Apartments were clean and stay was pleasant.

Cons: Breakfast is basic and apartment is a bit outdated, but can't expect more for that money. Everything was fine.

Had a pleasant stay :)

Pros: It was a close walking distance to the Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar etc. It had a balcony with a beautiful view. Breakfast had a nice selection at the sister hotel Fehmi Bey. The apartment was clean and got cleaned everyday.

Cons: The toilet seat was not aligned properly. The hand-wash dispenser in the kitchen was broken. There was no sign front door, so it was bit hard to find. But I called the number and someone came quickly to let us in.

Brilliant and would like to stay again

Pros: Breakfast was brilliant and their staff was super friendly. House keeping was exceptionally good. The area around is good as well- very near to Blue mosque and Aya Sofia. Sultan Ahmed is worth exploring.

Pros: We had an excellent stay at Mehmet Bey Suites. Travelling with two young kids, we found the rooms comfortable and practical, and the staff incredibly warm and helpful. The location is unbeatable—on a quiet street but within easy walking distance of all the major attractions and the tram. Breakfast (“brekkie”) was a highlight every morning: fresh, generous, and varied. Overall, fantastic hospitality and great value. We’d happily stay again and definitely recommend Mehmet Bey Suites to anyone visiting Istanbul.

Decent value for money

Pros: The area is a little run down but close to all the majority attractions. The choice at breakfast was very good with excellent views from the terrace.

Cons: The road where the apartment is located.

Fabulous apartment

Pros: The apartment was spotless and very well stocked. It was cleaned and the towels were changed daily. The beds were comfy and the linen was nice, the flat also has air conditioning. We were on the first floor - which was great at the end of a busy day but we did not have much of a view from our balcony. However, you could climb the stairs to the roof terrace which had an amazing view. Breakfast was great - really nice choice and again up on the roof terrace with amazing views. The location was fabulous - only a short walk to the main attractions and lots of restaurants. There is a little supermarket just up the road from the apartment. Also - the cleaning lady is lovely.

Cons: Our only problem was that when we arrived we were dropped outside the apartment - I had been told that the hotel where you check in was 300 metres away, so we walked up and down the road but could not find it. If you are coming by taxi - ask them to drop you at the Fehmi Bay Hotel not at the apartment. Otherwise if you are at the apartment - go up the hill to the first turning - turn left, then turn first right - the hotel is just there on your right. The chap who showed us to the apartment was grumpy that we were late but we couldn't find the hotel and had no internet service to check for details. Other than that - all was very good.
