Walnut Shell Hotel

Pros: The wallnut shell is an adorable and quaint little hotel in the heart of the old city district. Walking distance to many major attractions. The staff at the hotel were very kind and accommodating. Breakfast, which is served next door at the Harmony Hotel, was a delicious spread and a great way to start the day.

Cons: Saltanahmet district is a tourist designation due to the attractions and can be way more expensive than anticipated. Be prepared to spend money and have many encounters.

Pros: Kadir, the owner and his family are very pleasant, kind and helpful. Upper room has a balcony with good view to the sea and hotel is located very close to all great sightseeings of Istanbul

Cons: Stairs to the fourth floor are very steep and narrow, so passing through is not comfortable. But that's building disposition, so if you require full comfort, choose Harmony hotel beside, which is the same owner

The manager ensured that his team provided everything to exceed customers expectation.

Pros: The staff was excellent. Any problems fixed straight away. No complaints. Very professional and well organised by the manager. Polite and courteous. Room very warm, daily cleaned with new towels. Brilliant location. Manager and staff exceeded expections with their constant will to keep customers happy.

Cons: The stairs were not good for old people or with health problems. The breakfast was few doors away with climbing more stairs.

Pros: The staff is attentive and genuinely helpful, creating a warm atmosphere throughout our stay. We appreciated the thoughtful gesture prepared for our arrival, and the team offered great support in organizing local activities. Breakfast was varied and tasty, and our room , very clean, and comfortable. A pleasant experience overall.

Well located hotel with lovely staff.

Pros: Well located for the main tourist attractions on this side of Istanbul. Great staff, always helpful.

Cons: Was fine for us, but no lifts. So walking up stairs could be a problem for some people.

Economic and comfortable stay in Old Istanbul

Pros: Amazing location in Old Istanbul. Great value for money. Excellent choice if you are looking for something to just sleep in. The rooms are compact but bearable. Not luxurious but comfortable and was great for a base after our busy days.

Budget hotel in old city center

Pros: A few minutes walking distance from Sultanahmet square. Cheap and clean hotel. The employees are helpful and very polite.

Great service, top location, great budget hotel

Pros: The location is first class. The service is one of the best we have ever seen. Our stay at the Walnut Shell fully met our expectations

Pros: The receptionist was accommodating. He went the extra mile to help us when we had an issue with the shopping we did for some clothes. Overall, all the staff were very nice and friendly. The room is cleaned every day and whenever you return to the hotel, you find the room well prepared as the first day.

Loved our stay at walnut shell

Pros: A little gem in old city center. Very clean room with large balcony. The views from balcony is amazing. Our suite room located on top floor was beyond our needs.

Cons: No lift which has not been a problem for us. However it would not be easy for old guests.
